The Hundred Year Old Man…. …Who Climbed Out Of The Window & Disappeared. This book really has me captivated with it’s funny, charming, sad & mysterious side.
The book starts at the beginning where Allan is in an Old People’s Home..and he is about to turn 100 years old but doesn’t want to celebrate. The adventure he goes on is very wild & ridiculous for an 100 year old man. Murders, a suitcase full of cash, railway lines, how he used to blow bridges up & a big yellow bus.
As you read through the book it comes back to the present but also you discover his past of what he did when he was a young boy. He lived through 2 World Wars & spent 11 years out of Sweden where he originates from.
So far I’m on chapter 13…and I can say it’s worth a read. I will blog the rest of my review after I’ve finished. I’m so glad this is been made into a film…one of the most funniest lines is where he peed in a milk bottle outside his managers home! Ohhhhh & Sonya the Elephant!
Even if the film is Swedish it will be worth watching even with subtitles!
